Connecticut Notaries: Did you notice ...
Posted by  Ernest__CT on 7/9/18 5:48pm

... that CT Law increased the change of address fee that we pay to the new place of residence BY 100%? From $10 to $20.

... that the same legislative act raised the cost of a marriage license from $30 to $50, a 2/3 increase?

Seriously? Notaries Public in Connecticut still can charge only $5 for a notarization, and *gasp* only $0.35 per mile for travel. (Smart Notaries are adding a mileage surcharge, of course.)

It is long past time that we wrote our legislators and let them know that the State of Connecticut is increasing fees so that the state can get more money, but is keeping our fees too low.

Any thoughts, anyone?
