I agree with Steve. I always get a receipt. I consider it like insurance. There have been a couple of times where the tc couldn't find the package, but I was able to let them know - with proof - exactly what time and where I dropped it off. In all but one case (with a different carrier that doesn't have offices), the tc ended up finding the package in their own office, just misplaced.

I try to use the same FedEx office most of the time (it's small, primarily a ship center) and I've made a made a point of being friendly with the guys there and getting to know them. So I've been fortunate to have them now ask me if I just need a receipt, then they often have me skip the line, while they're taking care of someone else. Smile
