Didn't notice until they were signing my journal and giving me a thumbprint. His thumb was almost like a "cleft" thumb, for lack of a better way to describe it. Heart shaped, two distinct thumbprints, two distinct fingernails. His brother's was just like it. He said half the people in their village in Mexico had thumbs like theirs. He said it's a genetic thing that runs in his family. They were having a quincinera (sp?) and invited me to stay for the party. I tried to politely decline, but, ended up with a plate full of the most awesome food put in front of me. Sometimes, you just have to go with the flow.
