notaries that aren't legally performing their duties, it needs to be reported to your SOS. There are too many notaries out there that are clueless & notarize documents without proper ID, presence of the signer, etc. This is SOP in some industries like auto dealerships, etc.
Interestingly enough, I was at an attorney's office a couple of weeks ago. He called in the staff notary to notarize my signature. She didn't ask to see my ID. LOL
