Lisa is so correct about California having hit the gold mine in notary work (my words not hers)
We make the most per notarizations: $15 per signature, but the low number of notaries in our state is what drives us to be the most profitable notaries in the country.
We have not increased the number of notaries from a low of 159,000 to a high of 161,000 in the last seven years. I checked today and we have around 160,500.
We have a population of 40 million in our state.
Next door Arizona has around 7 million population and they have 100,000 notaries and I could count almost every other state in the US with similar statistics
California is also one of the most difficult states to be a notary; if not the most difficult?
LA might be more difficult from what I have read about their state test on this message board.
