When I was a CA notary, I did many e-signings. So, e-signings have been around a long time, and as far as I know, they don't need an OK from CA or any other state, since the notarized/recordable docs were and still are, as far as I know, wet-ink signed, hand-notarized. Are you referring to e-notarization? I know that some CA notaries (Marian, for one) e-notarize certain documents for attorneys, but I've never heard of an e-notarized loan in CA. Right around the corner, tho, I suspect. Check with the SOS on e-notarization. |
