Would you change your view if Every assigned job came with "odors that were truly obnoxious--like the strong ammonia smell"?
My brother used to work in HUD housing early in his electrician/plumber career as a journeyman (the stories he could tell); at times he'd have to shed his clothing outside before entering his home after work.
I don't think people necessarily enjoy unhealthy lifestyles. Addictions, be they drug, alcohol, prescriptions, pornography, food, gambling, gaming, nicotine, whatever have ONE thing in Common: Harmful consequences to those affected.
The question for me is not whether or not I care for someone's lifestyle (not there to judge), but HOW will I Be Affected? A "tah-dah" moment might not have the same effect on someone as a toxic environment. Which one would YOU choose?
