. . . with a loan package that I did not perform the entire closing for in case there are mistakes and the first thing everyone is going to do is blame the notary that stamped the documents. A mortgage package is never considered general notary work in my opinion and if someone wants only a couple of documents notarized out of that package, I am unable to accommodate them. My name, my stamp, my reputation is everything and let's just say it goes back to title incorrectly because the sellers didn't know what they were doing and filled the paperwork out wrong and the title company just so happens to be Fidelity. Do you think Fidelity is going to take the time to figure out that the notary only stamped two documents out of that package and that the borrowers are responsible for the mistakes that were made? No . . . Fidelity is going to automatically assume that the notary completed the entire package and didn't know what they were doing. |
