If you want to compare Trump with Obama as far as dumb things they said, Trump wins in a landslide and he's barely 100 days in. This is just the latest in a never-ending stream of Trump gaffes. In February he gave a shout out to Frederick Douglass, who died over 100 years ago. He also recently mentioned, in the present tense, his "good friend" Luciano Pavarotti, apparently unaware that Pavarotti died 10 years ago.
Every politician will misspeak once in a while but Trump has raised it to an art form. He doesn't know anything about anything, believes in conspiracy theories, and he shows that just about every time he opens his mouth or his Twitter feed. He just gave a barely coherent interview to AP, and independent fact checkers found at least 14 things he said that were simply not true.
Don't try to compare him with Obama - that's a losing game. |
