I always do the cross outs too when completing the all-purpose acknowledgment as that's one more step to curtail fraud. I also have the AAA Premier membership (5 FREE notarizations per DAY). However, if the cert on my doc is non-compliant, I will not print one from the SOS website. I have one on my computer in Word and everything is typed - venue, date, my name, is in the single person format with only the female pronouns. I include optional info too - title of date, # of pages, date of doc. It's CLEAN.....the notary just needs to print his/her name and sign it. This way, the cert is compliant and the cross outs aren't an issue. I use to customize my certs this way for notarizing but change my method each year. This year I'm using the all-purpose certs.
No law in the handbook that requires the doc to have an "all-purpose" acknowledgment....just an acknowledgment. Never had one rejected in 11 years. As a side note, if Sprint is your cell carrier, they've partnered with AAA to pay for the customer's Basic AAA membership fee. I used to pay $156 renewal for myself and hubby. For the last two years, I've paid $81 renewal for our AAA Premier membership, Sprint has paid the difference. The promotion came through Sprint so contact them. |
