biggest bonehead mistake I have ever made....did a sign up today of 184 pages of docs....everything all signed...I'm double checking....and realize....the 'blue pens' I handed the borrs to sign with....one of them was 'black ink'. Lender is persnickety and specifies blue ink only, so, I knew one signature in blue ink and one in black ink was not going to fly. Checked with signing service and escrow (much to my embarrassment) and yes, needed to re-sign all lender docs with blue ink only. Borrs were gracious and understanding. Gave me a hug and even shared a personal experience where she had made a big work mistake. Said stuff happens. They were just glad we caught it and had copy package to re-sign. Have worked for this SS and escrow for years and they seemed to understand and feel my pain. Time will tell.
and, why do I share such a gran faux pas (sp?) and pain on a public forum? Because it's just a reminder that no matter how extensive our experience and knowledge...we need to slow down sometimes and pay attention to the fine details....really look at what we are doing and get out of auto-pilot mode.
Needless to say, I have invested in new 'blue ink' pens. The 'black ink' ones are at the bottom of my purse....and, not in my briefcase! ![Smile](/images/expSmile.gif)
and now...my new therapy....listening to the "Let It Go" song! ![Smile](/images/expSmile.gif)
