I attended the AZ day in Phoenix last June. I had always wanted to see what the conference was like but they have so undermined the NSA business with SPeW and other actions in the last two years. Formerly top companies like Service Link, Title Source and others were top exhibitors and presenters. I attended the full day; enjoyed the opening session and social at the end of the day. It was fun to talk with NSA's from other areas.
After talking to individuals at the above named companies I decided not to work for them with their current operating methods. Changes these companies have made since June have reinforced my decision (like $12 print fee, fax backs required w/o additional compensation, dings to NSA fees, etc). I would not have committed three days of my time and the additional expense to attending the whole conference.
A couple of the glaring take-aways for me were that many of the successful notaries concentrate on GNW instead of NSA work. They also give back with community service by volunteering. One man sits an hour or two per week at a local senior center offering free notary services for 1 or 2 documents per person. I made notes of other good marketing ideas too.
