I'm not a notary, I'm just a 20 year old girl who has just bought a car with my own money for the first time. I bought it from a little old lady who is in a nursing home. Her son actually showed me the car and sold it to me. I received no receipt since this was an old family friend. She signed the title and it was notarized. After I bought it, I had my signature notarized.
Now to save me $140 in fees for titling and registration, I have to fill out a form and have us both sign it and have it notarized. I've never met the lady and have no idea how to get in touch with her. I need to prove that I paid $900 for the car by filling this form out and having it notarized. Is there anyway of getting around having her sign in person? Could I have her or her son fill out an affidavit saying how much I paid for it since I have the title with her signature that is notarized or is there anyway I can do this?? |
