are circumstances, such as distance, distance and distance. If it is a same day request from a regular client, if I want to quote more, I usually tell scheduler that I can do it, but have to swap around some plans for the day. Something like that. By the time they've called me, the LB's have already gone through those who work for cheap--that's easy, many many complaints about them here. With a few, I have upped my same zipcode fee, by $10 and some of those I don't really want to work for anyway anymore, for all the usual reasons stated in the forum.
I started CNSA when the market was going down; knew it would not support me or be a regular income I could count on--but for me that was not an issue.
Oh, and who was the poster who suggested move to CA. ARE YOU kidding me? No way, I only like to visit. CA taxes you for the air you breathe, almost. (ha ha) The fact that we have forum members who are sharing what the work is like for the higher fee, and all they put themselves through--not many of the complainers have probably ever put that much of themselves, pushed themselves--like Cheryl and Belinda--into any job they ever did. I know I would not take that on now, semi-retired brain and body here!
Lots of these posts are aimed a newbies who have the impression this profession is now an instant money-maker. Not to discourage, but just so, if they have a day job--not to quit it right away. |
