I agree re:drop off. I cannot go to a UPS store as it's over 20 miles away from home and often much more from the signing. Rural area, no freeways. UPS only picks up once a day anyway, as you say.
I am very curious as to how you do so many signings so close together. Do you use a journal in NC? I sometimes have 20 to 30 line items in my journal if there are 2 borrowers. A line item for each notarization is required. Especially when there is a nearly 200 page package, most of my signings take 1 1/2 - 2 hours each. If borrowers read much, it can go longer. Then there are those situations when you don't have the docs very early, so can't print ahead of an earlier signing. I once received the corrected docs for a 6pm signing at 7pm, resulting a 7:45pm arrival at the signing. The borrowers were not happy and almost didn't want to sign. The gal at escrow was chuckling that she just forgot to clear her cookies so the earlier ones (also late) all read "draft copy, do not sign". No respect for notaries or borrowers, it seems.
I am also rural so most of the signings are 25 to 30 minutes travel time each way. No freeways here. |
