As others have said, only you can decide whether you want to risk losing their business. Rather than just give in to their request or walk away, maybe you can talk to them and reach a mutually beneficial conclusion. You say you give them preferred treatment; let them know that (politely, of course). They want to reduce their cost, so digging in your heels is probably not a good idea. You'll have to think outside of the box a bit. What about you giving them a discount after a certain number of jobs each month? You say you average 8/month with them - might they be open to the first 5 or 6 at the original rate and any over that each month at the discounted rate?
If you show them you're willing to work with them, you've got a better chance of retaining their business. But ultimately, you're the only one who can decide what's right for your business. |
