It's not uncommon for me to get wrong contact information....and not really uncommon for borrower to not return my confirmation messages. Assuming that there is enough time I will contact my hiring party and ask for another contact phone number or an email address. I will also explicitly ask whether they want me to proceed to the appointment as scheduled if I am unable to confirm with borrower ahead of time. I really don't feel comfortable going to someone's home if they're not expecting me. If I proceed as scheduled, it's with the understanding that I will be paid my fee regardless of whether borrower is home and completes the signing. |
