Some lenders will approve signing before (or after) the date shown on the documents.

Good practice to check the date on the docs every time and inquire with your hiring party in the event the date shown is not the current date.

I check that in addition to checking and comparing the bottom line numbers on the CD and ALTA Settlement Statement. Many times the cash to close or cash due to borrower amounts are different and a call to title will prompt them to send an updated doc so the numbers match.
