Whether the document was drawn properly is not my business.

That's a bad comparison to OP Linda.

The OP has no moral obligation to contend with, but a Will signing, imo, does. How could you, being a paralegal, and having the legal experience you do, let someone sign, and you notarize a Will that is drafted incorrectly?

OP just has to notarize a sworn statement, much different from a Will, and whether the sworn statement its drafted correctly or not is definitely not our concern, I do agree there, however, the Will example you posted is totally different.

There is no way I would let anyone sign any legal documents knowing they were drafted incorrectly. Because you and I and others with Paralegal experience have this expert legal knowledge, I do strongly feel we have a moral obligation to let signers know at the very least they should seek the advise of an attorney to determine if their documents are drafted correctly because we can tell that they maybe. If they then still wanted to proceed, then fine. My conscious is clear.

I'd feel better knowing that at the very least I did let the signer know that their documents are incorrect and that I didn't just take their hard earned cash.
