I refinanced today to get a lower rate and reduce my payments. At this stage of my life, I will never pay my house off so I'm interested in the lowest payment I can get.
The notary who visited me said she had been doing this for 25 years, so I thought " great she will be perfect"
I hope I'm not being too picky but below is all the mistakes he made.
1.) She used ditto marks in her journal 2.) there were 3 Jurats in my package and she didn't put me under oath. 3.) This is California, she didn't staple anything. 4.) She put her title on the patriot act form. A notary's title only goes on official notarial certificates. 5.) I signed for 2 completed copies of the RTC, I didn't get any.
The moral of the story is: Especially new notaries, if you don't know something, ASK.
