I found that the older machines are like that, mine was. When I switched to a newer Brother, I have no problems and scan at 600 dpi, and can do the whole package...or sometimes I break it up if in doubt. Yes, to answer your question, many are now wanting everything scanned and uploaded back on their website. It does make it easier size wise so not rejected by being too big.
