when it was allowed....I was a ride-a-long with my husband's cousin. She was an escrow officer for 30 years and owned 4 offices. This was year's ago when "shadowing" was allowed. It was a great way to learn. It worked for us as she only covers San Diego county and I intended to cover Orange County. She is 82 now and has hung up her stamp. Now, with protecting everyone's personal, private information there is no way shadowing should be happening. Again, many years ago, I allowed someone to shadow me. She had her notary, but, wanted to learn loan signings. She had gotten laid off. I had known her for 10 years. Someone I trusted and still do. However, at the end of one week, she decided this loan signing business was not for her. She really wanted an 8-5 job that paid $80K a year. The loan signing business was too detail oriented, too much liability if you make a mistake, too much gas and driving in congested traffic with crazy people (SS) sometimes screaming at you. Not for her. Have never let anyone else shadow me.
Why do we do this again? Oh, yea, because we love it and it works for us.
