You are right! It shouldn't affect the NSAs, but you never know.
During the 80's this was a big deal for ICs who were Computer Programmers. Unfortunately, many were scared into becoming employees or quick the business because of the lobbying of the Consulting Companies and misinformation they feed to clients. Some ICs established LLCs and corporations for protection, while others fell by the wayside.
