I would disregard the public service plea as a joke. I would however say as to the Banks do it for free: "That's exactly what I was going to say. I always suggest that if a person wants to save themselves some money they might consider going to their bank who will probably do it for free."

Aren't you nice. First of all, banks are NOT notarizing anything (in my area) other than documents issued by their own bank. I can't even get Chase to witness a quit claim deed for a refinance done by their bank. So, that's Florida anyhow. Take the high road. If the bank were available and free, and could be done, you wouldn't have been called in the first place. Let him pay for it. Somebody has a lot more money at stake than you are going to make. Let them fund it. Go for it. Good luck
