Not sure how it is inappropriate or unprofessional to help people with their insurance needs. I have a professional license issued by the state, I never offer my services at the closing table. The borrower contacts me on their own wanting more information about what I offer. The products I offer are in no way competing with the title companies or the lenders. (In fact, lenders like LoanDepot are now offering 3rd party insurance products to their borrowers, and title companies offer home warranties all the time)
