Bottom line: he brought the cashier's check. But he was still fishy about it.
I went to work with my husband and the guy showed up at 9, but he did not have the check. He said his wife would be there in an hour with it. We were afraid the tow truck was on it's way. I waited 1 & 1/2 hours and she didn't show. I called her and she said she was leaving the house in 15 minutes to go to the bank. I finally HAD to leave for a signing. The tow truck did not show up.
My husband is done with his part of the car, so the client has been coming every day with "helpers" and fool around with the engine in my husband's shop and tools tools. My husband finally said, "This Friday, pay me and take the car, or you can't come over any more and I am charging you storage".
The wife arrived at noon with the check, but I was not there.
After my signing, I got the check, drove it to their bank to make sure it was really theirs (it was), then I went to my bank and put it in. I'm REALLY glad everyone told us to get a cashier's check. Then I had to go back home and scan back the entire set of docs, and get them into the fed ex.
And the tow truck never came all day. But at least we have the money.
My husband says, "I'm glad we got the money, now I can sleep at night without worrying, but I am sick of that car and that customer. I will be glad when they are gone". |
