Colorado prohibits the use of the state seal on the notary stamp. The state seal may only be used by the Secretary of State. Some notaries violate the law by displaying the state seal on their stamp or website.
Colorado has a simple text-only rectangular design requiring name, Notary Public, State of Colorado, ID number and expiration date. The law does not require any specific stamp size, order or layout of information, font size, font style, or ink color. I recommend blue ink to my notary students to help distinguish original documents from copies. |
