I receive texts, emails and phone calls from escrow officers and lenders all the time for last minute signings. I have one today, a purchase...LO wanted signed last night, but I was already booked.
So we're doing the closing today. It is not uncommon for dedicated EOs and loan doc drawers to work from home 24/7 including holidays, logging on to their office server to download documents and workup the settlement statement, then contact their go-to NSA for a reliable, time sensitive, competent signing. Especially these days.
Maybe this is just unique to California. This is what we call our "book of business." It pays off in spades to be connected with the people in the industry who also have a huge book of business.
