This may be true, but I don't think that should mean caving on a primary issue right out of the gate. If we're opposed to remote notarization (which I am and which you made a very good argument against), I think that's a key position to stand behind. If it turns out to be a losing battle, then there's a fall-back position to keeping it within CA for CA notaries. They can figure that out on their own, I'm sure. But I don't believe it's a good idea to put that out there up front. (It's not a strong negotiating position. )
I'd really like to see us all go full bore against remote notarization being acceptable at all within this state. There have apparently been other states that have rejected it and I'd love to see CA be one more. I feel strongly about this! |
