I just read about this today - from the articles this has apparently been going on as long as the other gambit of email scam, I just didn't know about. So, in case you are considering that conference related to real estate or opportunities for your notary business, you might want to read (or at least look at) the following link. And the last link has some good overall tips and things to think about as it relates to scams in general. I've always said the people who perpetrate these kinds of scams have waaaaayyyyyy too much time on their hands and are wasting their knowledge and skills; but I guess they think it is the easier and quicker route to go. But I guess it just confirms that there are all types in the world. Be careful out there. https://www.inman.com/2019/10/23/nar-warns-members-about-conference-email-scam/ and this information as well https://buffered.com/scam-almanac/conference-invitation-scams/
