I agree with you about Sessions, but Trump is going to have a hard time finding a replacement who will get confirmed. Giuliani is definitely not the answer and the number of people willing to work for Trump seems to be dwindling because of the way he treats people. So if he fires Sessions or Sessions quits, we would wind up with Rosenstein as acting AG, which would not be the worst thing in the world.
A recess appointment would be Trump's only chance to name a replacement without worrying about confirmation hearings, but the Senate is supposedly considering a move that would block a recess appointment. |
