Dan Scavino, Donald Trump's former golf caddy and now Director of Social Media, tweeted out a video of what he said was Miami International Airport under water during Hurricane Irma, indicating that he shared it with both President Trump and VP Pence.
Except it wasn't Miami International Airport - it was an airport in Mexico from a month ago.
Is it too much to ask that the Director of Social Media authenticate the stuff he is sending to the President BEFORE he sends it?
Gen. Kelly has eliminated the ability for staff to just share whatever they stumble across on the Internet with the President - he reviews every news article before it hits the President's desk, and has eliminated Breibart.com and The Daily Caller from the President's daily news feed. Although he can't control the Twitter feed, this is a perfect example of why he took the steps he took. Now if he can just wrestle that phone away from him... |
