That sounds like a smart way to go. The first time I met a couple at a Starbucks (their suggestion, and for GNW), they had bought a $5 Starbucks gift card as a thank-you for whomever they were able to convince to help them out. [They were new to the area and knew no one.]
Bottom line, I think it says an awful lot about a company that will request a notary be responsible for providing a witness. If they're making promises to make themselves look good that someone else will have to deliver on, with no extra compensation (to say nothing of decent fees up front!), then what else will they try to extract from the hide of the notaries they hire? |
