Re: Appropriate, professional attire in a heat wave
Posted by marpanotary on 6/19/17 10:13am

Unbearably hot and humid in Southeastern Pa...most of summer. I have been only in the business for 1 year. I am also a real estate agent. The areas that I serve are mostly business casual and most of the folks that I have been meeting with are in their homes. When going to someones home I first look at the area that I will be going into and the price of the homes in the area if I am not familiar with the area. If it is an upscale area I will dress for an upscale borrower. If in an average price range area I will go more casual. When meeting in a real estate office or a bank I will be sure to wear business attire. In any case I always wear clean and appropriate clothing. Black slacks or dress pants, I always wear this shaw thing with sleaves that goes over everything from t-shirt to tank top or camisole. It makes a nice good conditioned t-shirt or tank look like I am wearing business attire. I will put it on in the car when I arrive at the house or closing. That way I don't enter someones home or business soaking wet with sweat. Also, I found a pair of black travel pants that look like black kakis that are super light weight and perfect for the summer heat.
