Verrrry funny, Hugh!
However, your position: <<I don't have a problem with someone who wants to ID a stranger he has let into his home.>>
We may be strangers, but it's not like we just coincidentally appeared on the doorstep for no apparent reason and then asked to see their ID! An appt has already by set by somebody, we have confirmed the appt in a mano-a-mano phone call, we arrive like packmules, laden down with loan docs, copies of loan docs, pens, journals, ink pads, whatever. We introduce ourselves as the same person who previously called them confirming the appt. etc. It's not like we just dropped in from the Milky Way. And they want to ID us? Paleeeeze. That's taking paranoia into another stratosphere....
Anyway, knowing you, I have a suspicion you're talking about people other than borrowers whose homes you have been dropping in on ... like that foxy widow lady down the block. I can see they might want to ID you. (Hee Hee). |
