LOL! Yes, the CA documents do look like UFOs to me. My borrower's hold Ph.Ds and they are research scientists at a major health care system but they struggled filling out the Preliminary Change of Ownership Report!

In fact, after the signing, the borrower's called and asked me to help them redo that doc because they weren't sure if they checked the boxes correctly. I may have to go back and issue them another form. I'm waiting on Title to let me know. Either way, it's fine because it's not too far and they were really nice folks.

After getting a peek at CA real estate sales, I give CA notaries a lot of credit for their fortitude in putting up with the many layers of CA bureaucracy and handling such complex documents. They must be pretty sharp and tough folks!
