 California Acknowledgment with preprinted vesting
Posted by RY on 10/26/16 12:20pm

I am a California notary and I always attach an acknowledgment when
the capacity or vesting of the signer is preprinted after their names because
in California we can not notarize the capacity of the signer. One of the title companies
that is out of state advised me to cross out and initial the verbaige, because they get
charged if I attach and extra acknowledgment. I called NNA, they
told me if the acknowledgment goes out of state I can cross out the veribage and
initial, and if it will record in California I have to attach an acknowledgment.
I am still not sure about this. California notaries please tell me how do you
proceed? Thank you very much.
