Well, there are reasons for people to do this, and I don't worry about whether or not it is "morally" right or wrong. You're just there to show them where to sign each document. My rub, is where you are supposed to collect "things" from the people. They are usually not really the sharpest knives in the drawer and they don't have the document(s) ready for you. Then there is the huge delay while they run around digging here and there for statements, bills, identification and everything else under the sun. Many companies want you to fax this stuff back to them and then you have all of these "original" bills, etc., that need to get back to the client, unless you have photographed them, which is another pain in the !@#$%. If they pay well, and you don't have any other real loans to do, then it may be for you. Otherwise, I am not a real big fan of doing them. My last company did pay me $150 and for the short drive, and some photos, and fax backs it was worth it. Just remember you won't be working with any Einstein's here. |
