I imagine all vehicles are different, but I've had a 'check engine' light come on that wasn't an issue at all. It was just a routine check and re-set that was needed, but it was a long time ago, so I don't remember details. I hope that's all it turns out to be for you!
Because I depend so heavily on my car - and don't want to ever find myself stranded somewhere - I'm a big believer in routine preventive maintenance. I found a very good, honest mechanic shop (from neighborhood referrals) once my car went off warranty, and they're pretty good about keeping me informed of what to expect next in maintenance. I just consider it a 'necessary business expense'. |
