I would be darn sure I had it in writing that they were not going to pay me!!!
I have never had this type of situation happen and hope I never do! I it is a great topic for conversation and analysis. Would be great to get an attorney's take on this.
Heck, I could go as a consumer to an independent insurance agent fill out the paper work & sign the document for car insurance. The insurance underwriter and broker tells the insurance agent they are not going to pay his agree upon commission because of such & such. Who broke the agreement? Is the insurance agent by law required to submit the paperwork anyway to the underwriter or broker??? As the consumer could I sue the Insurance Agent because now I don't have car insurance and was in an accident? Could the Underwriter or Broker sue the Agent because he didn't submit the paperwork after they said he was not going to get paid his agreed upon commission? Interesting concept & discussion...
