but please, don't discount the impact of certification - many many companies will not use a notary who is not certified by SOMEBODY - most accepted is NNA (though most of us here have no faith in their expertise in this business)
You are going to find you will get business based on your prior experience but you are going to run into "I'm sorry, we only use <>>>>> certified notaries" - be prepared to eventually bend to their will and take a certification course - consider it just another feather in your "resume" cap.
Also, as a brilliant notary here says (paraphrased) "concentrate on being an outstanding notary before you try to be a good signing agent". Know your notary laws hands-down cold because you will be challenged by companies to bend or break them - stand your ground and don't.
