time. That's now how this industry works.
I often have files that are coming from a West Coast lender or tc, and the docs usually arrive at or after the set appt. time.
I've learned that you have to be flexible in this biz. My situation doesn't involve a lot of time for travel though, like it is for some.
When docs are running late, I usually call the borrower's to see if they're flexible.
Some notaries will push the signing to the end of the day, too.
I do think cancelling 3 hrs. out is unusual & won't sit well with your client. Maybe you're busy enough that it doesn't matter. I can't afford to lose clients these days even though I complain to myself a lot! LOL
