Not Every Borrower Wants To Sign In Their Home.
Posted by  PegiT_MN on 1/9/19 8:12pm

I am finding this a lot lately. During the confirmation call I am finding out that the loan officers are really pushing the convenience of the "home closing". My borrower yesterday said she really did not want to meet in her home but the loan officer had insisted upon it. She has two very large dogs and her house was a mess . . . her words about the messy house, not mine. She asked if it would be acceptable to meet at a nearby coffee shop. I'm all for whatever the borrower wants and if she wanted to meet at Starbucks, that works for me. It has been so cold and icy here in Minnesota lately that a closing in the local Starbucks is always a hit on my list. One of my closings today . . . their street was solid ice in portions. It got really warm here and stuff started melting and then it all iced back up again . . . there is ice everywhere! One of my closings yesterday . . . their driveway was solid ice and I wasn't even able to drive up it . . . my car slid backwards sideways back down to the street.
