That's the trouble with some people today. You are a Notary. You are there to notarize something. If you are presented with a VALID identification, you simply enter that data in your journal, notarize the document properly, get your money and be on your way.
Obviously some people don't have enough to keep them busy, or simply no life. So, they do a notarization and then they eyeball their customer, (who paid them I am assuming to NOTARIZE), drive away.
Gee, look! She's DRIVING a CAR. OMG!!!! I gotta run out and take down that license plate number, make, model and color of the car, and direction I last saw it going in. And I have her personal information recorded in my Journal already. We're halfway there to stopping a CRIME IN PROGRESS.
Yeah, that's it. And I should get out my cell phone and video her driving. And then I can call ....... let's see, the Police, or better yet, I will write a letter and send it to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Maybe both. Maybe I should call 911! What else can I do here? I wonder if social media might be interested?
Good gravy, this kind of Orwellian idiocy needs to stop - Hitler already tried having neighbors turn in other neighbors - it worked for a while. All this over an ID card. |
