But I think the real Tragedy goes well beyond "dead beat" SS. It's just not an arena anymore for the professional "Signing Agent."
Many of us simply cannot afford to be kept "busy" by bartering our time and skills away so cheaply; so the SS option is becoming a mute point. GNW makes more sense than signing up with a Sig Closers, for instance (based on recent thread).
And like others have said, with Experience comes Insight and the ability to ward off most of the danger.
And, when in doubt, some just get paid up front. Don't want to get into that.
There is enough said even about so-called good, decent signing companies from Both sides (I'm thinking about posts I've read about Lejuene and FASS) to warrant extra scrutiny in these lean times.
