I compiled these statistics based on the current 761 listings in the Notary Rotary Signing Central database. For simplicity, full star ratings were counted, partial star ratings were ignored. For example, 4.1 to 4.9 stars = 4 stars, shown as 4*.

3* 134, 24%
2* 87, 16%

0* 179, 32%

4* 15, 7%
3* 61, 29%
2* 54, 26%
1* 52, 25%
0* 27, 13%

Conclusion: 45% of active businesses listed are rated 3 stars or higher. Only 21% are rated 4 stars or higher.
36% of closed businesses are rated 3 stars or higher. 64% of closed businesses are rated 2 stars or lower.
Avoid businesses rated 2 stars or lower. Even 3-star businesses closed more often than lower rated businesses.
For best results, and lowest risk of business closing, choose 4-star and 5-star businesses. Use 3-star businesses with caution, after doing more research. |
