The recipient HAS THE APP already and said it was easy as pie to get money. I understood that once I "registered" my bank info online (on BOA's web site), I could then use the app which I had installed to send money. This wasn't the case; only existing BOA customers could use this functionality.
My C.U. could have easily did the transfer for me (I just don't have their app installed yet); I could have also used my FI's web option but I'm unwilling to go thru all that again since I've simplified and have my accounts, credit cards, etc. in same location (I transfer between accts right from internet). Not wanting to set up web pay for mere phone and cable (or incidentals) since I can pay those online, as well.
In short, it was Much Easier to stand in line at receiver's bank (though, not pleasant). At least Zelle (whatever name it is) might make things easier for non-bankers in future!
"Zello" would have been more catchy, don't you think? |
