in accordance to IL notarial laws. Read IL Notary Handbook. I do not charge the $1 fee for general notary work, but do charge a "travel fee" based on where it is I'm asked to go by my clients.
When it comes to NSA work, you should charge based on a number of factors, like the cost each closing will actually cost YOU. Its is wise to include, among other things, your time (per hour), printing fee, mileage, and office expenses.
There is tons of great information on this site and some great folks that would be more than willing to help you. Do not feel a shamed or embarrassed to ask a question, BUT if you do, on this site, do your research FIRST, before you ask (like the Notary Rotary guidelines say) otherwise you will get bombarded with smart a$$e$ and their replies, which can be pretty harsh for a newbie.
I'm in Chicago so if you need some assistance, please feel free to give me a call or email.
Congrats and good luck in your new business! |
