Yes, a few times a title company has asked me to have a signer put a fresh signature on a deed of trust near the original signature. So I am thinking this is the same type of thing. I saw her sign, she signed my journal & I attached a new acknowledgement.
In California we just notarize the POA, we do not need 2 witnesses in addition to that. In fact, in California I know as a notary can not also witnesses a document that we notarize. I am not sure if we can have other witnesses in addition to our notarizing, but I have never been asked to have anyone witness a document that I notarized (except in the case of someone signing with a mark...) |
