Yes John, this is not a good time to get into this business as it is difficult for even seasoned people to find enough work. But never the less, good luck!

Be very careful who you accept work from, there are many signing companies who take advantage of newbies and don't pay them. It's very difficult to collect so you want to go with companies who have established reputations.

You will also need to do tons of marketing and business development to get clients.
